Bear Act
The objective of this Act is to provide a general penal code for India. This Code consolidates the whole of the law on the subject and is exhaustive on the matters in respect of which it declares the law,many more penal statutes governing various offences have been created in addition to the code.
The IPC is an Act that defines and provided punishments for almost all types of criminal or actionable wrongs right from committing nuisance in the public place to Murder, Rape, Dacoity etc. The Indian Penal Code (IPC) is the main criminal code of India.
The Indian Penal Code of 1860, sub-divided into 23 chapters, comprises 511 sections. The Code starts with an introduction, provides explanations and exceptions used in it, and covers a wide range of offences. The Outline is presented in the following table:
